Kindle Changes
Kindle 2.0 is a joke… right?

This is an early April Fool’s joke, right? It’s not a book, and never will be a book. Anyone who wants to read books on puny electronic devices, be my guest. The reason these things haven’t been a hit as the iPod has is that it doesn’t change the paradigm in a positive way. Listening to music anywhere you want makes sense. Reading books on a tiny device because you CAN doesn’t mean you should. The kindle is an answer to a question that no one asked.

I don’t know, I know a LOT of people who read books on video-iPods, and they are quite small, maybe 4″x5″ at best. I don’t get it myself, but to each their own. That said I think that reading books on iPod is more of a curiosity for people who already own one. I doubt very much that there is a significant portion of the market-base that says “yay for reading books on teeny-weeny eyestrainovision” and goes out to buy a ViPod. If people buy the product for something else, then get the books as a bonus, they might use it, but I’m predicting economic failure for something that does that solely.

Solid Improvements for Amazon’s Kindle 2
